Από τους εξαιρετικότερους υμνογράφους και μουσικούς διακρίνονται οι Ρωμανός ο Μελωδός, Ιωάννης Δαμασκηνός, Ανδρέας ο Κρης, Ιωάννης ο Κουκουζέλης, Χρύσανθος Μαδύτου, Χουρμούζιος Χαρτοφύλακας και άλλοι. That comment spoke volumes, especially from someone who is not religious. I truly appreciate what you said. I wish Orthodox Christians made a greater effort to reunite Rome and Protestants. A Catholic once remarked to my priest that our church was so beautiful, and in reply, my priest asked him why Christians did not wish to be part of such a holy (Orthodox) experience. The Catholic was lost for words. To my fellow Christians, come home. We welcome you with open arms of love.

This is the Mother Church of Byzantium and will always hold that reverance despite the plundering and desecrating of its interior by the followers of Satan. ONLY Christians fully appreciate the Pearl of Byzantine architecture and Orthodox Worship.The Muslims could never build anything as beautiful and majestic as this. So they plundered that which they could not embrace and understand. May the Christian God forgive them and may they all repent for transgressing God’s will.

It also was a Christian Orthodox Cathedral for 700 years. Keep in mind that Hagia Sofia ( or Ἀγία Σοφία ) is a Greek name meaning Holy Wisdom. Ἀγία Σοφία is also an Orthodox Saint.
